SK Telecom is giving example how to be a global telco technological pioneer, rather than follower.
Most of operators watch 5G game sitting in convenient chair and waiting for match sudden twist. Korean uncommonly competitive market cannot accept such passive attitude, that’s why SK needs to take 5G ecosystem development speed into their own hands.
According to information from Korea Times, operator established 200 people dedicated team coming from MNO, media, IoT and service platforms whose task will be to join forces to stimulate possible fast 5G service launch.
Special force attention will be focused on typical for 5G use cases such as artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles or IoT.
The approach shows that nowadays if a telco wants to succeed thanks to innovative technologies, it must also be managed in an innovative and unconventional way.
